How to wear your Prescription Foot Orthotics

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

  1. Replace your original shoes insoles with your new orthotics

  2. Wear your orthotics a half hour more each day until you comfortably wear them all day. For some people at first try, they will feel discomfort, remove your orthotics out of your shoes and reduce your wearing time next day, until you’re comfortable wearing it.

  3. Increase the amount of time you wear them each day until you can wear them comfortably all the time. It may take time for your feet and body to adjust, but this process is worth doing slowly.

  4. Some cases your orthotics will not fit in your shoes, for they are different in size and style. Bring your orthotics if you are buying new shoes to ensure that you are buying new shoes to ensure that you have the right one. If you’re orthotics need trimming please return your orthotics to us and our skilled technician will do the trimming for you

  5. If you experience squeaking in your orthotics, remove them from your shoes and allow the orthotic to dry. Sprinkle foot powder inside your shoe. Rub the foot powder around your shoe in the area the hard plastic connects the nylon or leather.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Be sure to examine your bare feet after removal of your shoes and orthotic devices. If you notice any areas of concern (redness, blisters, rubbing) contact a health care professional immediately.

You should return every year to have a medical practitioner check your orthotics to see if they are still functional. They should last between 1-2 years
